Early bird walkers* held an impromptu coffee klatch at the pavilion on October 12th, beating the rain by only hours. Two homemade coffee cakes, (Jim, kneeling with Stella), homemade chocolate chip cookies (Tony, center gray sweatshirt), and a carafe of coffee from Caribou. Passing walkers joined in for get-to-know-you chats. Evelyn Padilla (photographer) is the only walker still working full time, but neighbors include several community volunteers as well. Getting to know your neighbors – it’s a Como Park state of mind.
*Not an organized group. Individual walkers typically walk between 7 – 9 a.m, at varying paces.
