District 10 Welcomes New Executive Director

After the departure of long-serving Executive Director Michael Kuchta, the District 10 Community Council formed a special Personnel Committee to search for a new Executive Director to fill the role.

Ultimately, the Personnel Committee made the decision to offer the position to Shevek McKee and he accepted earlier this week.

He brings a passion for community engagement work and has volunteered with district councils in Saint Paul for over ten years, most substantially as Chair of the D17 Capitol River Council downtown from 2019-2021.

Shevek grew up in the Highwood neighborhood in the southeast corner of the city, and alternated living downtown and on the eastside before recently settling just south of the Como District in Frogtown with his partner, Ashley.
