What can we say! It is the season of Thanksgiving. We appreciate your support and want to say Thank you. Thank you for opening our newsletter and reading it! Thank you for volunteering at events! Thank you for attending community meetings either in person at the Streetcar Station or via Zoom! Thank you for sharing PIE with us! Thank you for being kind to your neighbors and for living in this wonderful community we call home!
We hope you have enjoyed these snap shots of the major events that the Como Community Council has hosted over the past year. This is the big event, just like our summer Ice Cream Social. Over 600 members of our Como community gathered at the Streetcar Station to celebrate summer with music and of course Ice Cream! We hosted a donation drive, entertained the kids with yard games and crafts, and even had a local food truck for a bit more hardy fair for those so inclined. The rained threatened but held off and over 17 organizations tabled at the event!
The District 10 Board has worked to create events to bring the community together! Can you now come together with us and financially support the volunteer work of your neighbors?

Over the past year District 10 Como Community Council has had the privilege of working with many individual and group volunteers to plan and put on the major community events that are hosted each year. We have been hosting a major event in each of the four subdistricts so that we can encourage neighbors from the whole community to engage with each other and community partners that have vested interest in the district.
During the May 13 “Pick Up and Party” event at Orchard Rec Center the community serviced the neighborhood by picking up trash after the long winter and enjoyed a FREE Community Meal. Your financial support will continue to allow these events to thrive!

Know Your Como: Thanks for your Support!

The District 10 Como Community Council has had a great year! We have been so excited to see so many neighbors and community members participate in this past years Neighborhood Events! November 16 is Give to the Max Day. In its 15th year, Give to the Max is an annual fundraising campaign for thousands of nonprofits and schools across Minnesota. For the next four weeks the Know your Como section will share reminders of some of the major events that are hosted by your Community Council. We ask for your financial support to keep these events alive and growing!
At our February Blizzard Breakfast event we partnered with North Dale Rec and Bethel Lutheran Church to serve a pancake breakfast to around 300 community members who also enjoyed s’mores, crafts, ice skating, and learning about resources from local partner organizations and city departments. We’re already putting the pieces together for our 2024 Blizzard Breakfast, set for February 3 back at North Dale!
