A Guest Letter from Como Park Neighbor Annie Huidekoper

A Guest Letter from Como Park Neighbor Annie Huidekoper

Over the last few weeks, we’ve shared what we think is pretty special about the Como Community Council’s contributions to the quality of life in Como Park, from programming to resource-sharing to a sense of neighborhood connectedness. For the final week of our Como Springsgiving Drive, we’re hearing from neighbor Annie Huidekoper about why she supports our organization. Take it away, Annie! (And if you’ve already donated during our Como Springsgiving drive: much gratitude to you!)

Our Como Community Council is one of the keys to making our neighborhood strong. Whether you opt to give as a volunteer (a food/clothing drive, a lake-side clean-up, or by serving as a board or committee member), or with a financial gift, please find a way to contribute to this special resource in our midst.

The monthly meetings at the Historic Streetcar Station often include intriguing guests, thoughtful/respectful/civil discussions, outreach and advisory actions. You will gain a greater connection – and in my case, stewardship – for and with the diverse businesses, organizations, and fellow residents in our corner of Saint Paul. The outreach efforts and educational activities by the “District 10” staff and volunteers serve as a model for the city’s other 16 community councils.

I invite you to explore, when the time is right, a hands-on role with our dynamic Como Community Council but until then, please join me in stepping up to the plate with a generous gift to help support one of the very best nonprofits serving our wonderful neighborhood – The District 10 Como Community Council.

The Como Community Council is the only neighborhood organization dedicated to connecting neighbors and improving life in Como Park, a place near and dear to all of our hearts. Your past support has contributed mightily to all we do, and we very much appreciate your consideration of a gift today.
