New business

  1. Janna brought up the Urban Forest Phenolgy study being conducted by UofM grad students.  How to get involved: If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or just want more information on the project, contact Chris Buyarski, buyar002@umn.edu, 612-624-3485 or 612-624-7734.

  1. Eagle ride at Como Town:

It was brought up at the March 4, 2013, Land Use meeting with representatives from Lance/Como Town present.  Their presentation and answers to followup questions answered all the questions we raised in the February EC meeting.  Curt determined no additional letter was needed.  At the March 19, 2013, D10 Board meeting it was discovered that the Land Use Committee sent a letter of support for the ride.  Curt did not recall that a letter of support was discussed at the 3/4/13 land use meeting.

  1. Power Grant recap:

Janna and Betti attended the meeting to discuss the POWER Grant proposal.  It did not receive D10 Board approval due to time and uncertainty of the insurance requirments.  All board members thought it would be a great project.  Betti stated that the insureance requirements are the same as county and state requirements.  We will try it again next year.  It was suggested that D10 could develope a system for processing grant requests that come up.

  1. Native Plant event:
