Jill Henricksen, At-Large

I've lived in the Como Park neighborhood for 15 years with my husband and two sons, who attend Capital Hill and Como Park High School.

After obtaining a degree in Urban and Regional Planning, I've worked in community planning, organizing, and development for more than 20 years. In addition, I have experience with nonprofit management and fundraising. Currently I am a Community Development Manager at MN Housing Partnership, providing technical assistance to local governments, nonprofits, and Native Tribes.

I believe I have an opportunity to be helpful in several areas including nonprofit management and board experience, housing and economic development as well as community building and engagement.

I love to problem-solve in creative ways and find common ground among diverse stakeholders. In addition, I feel strongly about community processes that seek out the opinions of all community members. Currently, there are opportunities for positive impacts in projects such as the vacant former Sholom Home site, Larpenteur Avenue redesign, and improved pedestrian walkways on Lexington between the golf course and the lake. In addition, we have an opportunity to promote home improvement resources available to limited and middle-income homeowners and to increase the voice and influence of renters in our community.
