Election for At-Large Seat is Tuesday

Three neighborhood residents are seeking to fill a vacant At-Large position on the District 10 Como Community Council board. (You can read their statements by downloading the PDF in the right column.) The candidates on the ballot (in alphabetical order):

  • Jill Henricksen
  • Kelly McCormick
  • Mike Mitchelson

Under District 10's bylaws, additional candidates may be nominated from the floor at the May 21 board meeting; they are considered write-in candidates. The winning candidate will fill the remaining 11 months of a vacant At-Large position on the Como Community Council board. The candidate elected on May 21 takes office immediately and serves until April 28, 2020.

Voting: The special election is this Tuesday, May 21, at 7 p.m., at the Como Park Streetcar Station (which is at the northeast corner of Lexington and Horton). All renters, homeowners, and other residents age 16 or older who live in District 10 are eligible to vote and run for office. So are authorized representatives from a business or nonprofit organization located in District 10. All eligible community members may cast ballots for the At-Large position. Community members must vote in person by secret ballot; there is no absentee or proxy voting.
